Have you ever heard the saying: “pura vida” and lived it? Have you ever eaten “gallo pinto”? Have you ever sunbathed in December at 33 degrees Centigrade?
If not, then you haven´t been to paradise yet…
I am Elke, school manager at Babylon Idiomas Barcelona and I just wanted to share with you my awesome travel experiences to the beauty of Costa Rica. I liked it so much, I hardly know where to start…
There is so much to talk about, so many stories to tell, so many experiences to share. So let me try to share a bit and let YOU make your own experiences and fall in love with this enchanting part of the world.
My adventure started on the 30thof November; leaving cold-rainy Barcelona behind me, as I took the flight to San José, the capital, to be picked up by one of my colleagues of our Costa Rican partner schools.
I was immediately impressed by the kindness and friendliness of Costa Rican people. I had the chance to visit our school, to meet the staff, to taste traditional Costa Rican food, and got useful tips for my journey.
My trip took me to see volcanos, natural parks watching all types of animals (monkeys, raccoons, snakes, sloths to name but a few), a boat trip on a crocodile-river; to my first canopy-experience struggling against my fear of heights; to my first wave-ride on a surfboard, and so much more.
As two weeks is not too much time to see whole Costa Rica- although it´s a small country- my trip took me to San José – Santa Domingo – Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio – Jacó – Vulcan Arenal,.. so basically I just stayed at the Pacific side of the country- there is still so much to see on the Caribbean side.
If you like stunning nature, great adventure and tropical temperatures, Costa Rica is for you. A great way to enjoy “pura vida” is to combine your trip with a Spanish course at one of our language schools in Costa Rica. Don’t hesitate to contact us for any questions you may have: we’re here to help.

I certainly haven’t been to this paradise yet, but hopefully I’d be visiting it in near future, partly because of it’s sheer beauty and partly because of it’s rich culture.
