The best way to prove your Spanish language skills is to take the official DELE exam and to get a certificate that you can attach to your CV. Never heard about the DELE before? Don’t worry! What is the DELE diploma exactly?

The DELE Diploma stands for “Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language” and has become the official accreditation of the degree of fluency of the Spanish Language. The exams test your comprehension, writing and oral skills. This diploma is recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Spain and is organized by Instituto Cervantes, the official government organization that promotes the Spanish language worldwide.

 

Why do I need a DELE certificate?

The DELE diploma is the only certificate for non-native Spanish speakers that is the standard recognition today of your Spanish language skills worldwide. It will be essential for you if you want to go study abroad at a Spanish University or if you want to do an internship in a company where Spanish language skills are obligatory.

 

For which levels are the DELE exams offered?

The Instituto Cervantes offers official DELE exams for each of the 6 levels that are formulated in the Common European Framework of References for Languages:

 

How can I prepare myself for the DELE exam?

In the exam your comprehension, writing and oral skills will be tested, so it is a good idea to prepare yourself intensively for the exam in order to maximize the chances of passing it. Babylon Idiomas is offering you a DELE preparation course for 3 weeks that consists of 20 hours of class per week and gives you the opportunity to work precisely on the grammar topics that will be the content of the test. It helps you revise and specifically test and improve your grammar knowledge to confidently pass the examination. One of our teachers will also accompany you to the examination centre to make sure that you can focus on the test and do not need to worry about how to get there. The preparation course can be booked at the Babylon Idiomas language school in Barcelona and at our language school in Buenos Aires.

The start dates for the preparation course always fall four weeks before the actual exam. This way, you finish the course one week before the real exam which gives you plenty of revision time. If you want to take the exam this May, you can do the inscription until this Friday, the 20th. The DELE preparation course will start at Babylon Idiomas on Monday, the 7th of May. Where and when can I make the exam?

The DELE exams in Spain will take place on 3 different dates this year. In general you can take the exam in any country where the Instituto Cervantes has offices. Please check the specific start dates on the web of your local institute.

 

 

 

How much do I have to pay for the exam?
