Where to Learn Spanish this Summer

It’s the end of June, summer’s almost here and you haven’t made any plans yet? If you want to learn Spanish this summer but also not miss out on sun, sea, culture and fun, a language course in Spain is the best option. You will not only learn Spanish, but also see beautiful places, make new friends, try local food and enjoy the great weather!

The good news is that Spain is full of amazing places and you’re sure not to be disappointed wherever you choose. Still, making a decision is not easy and depends on what you are looking for. So where’s the best place for your Spanish adventure? We asked our lovely students to share their recommendations with you. They’ve been in all of our destinations and will give you some great insider tips!

Barcelona

Spain’s second largest city, Barcelona, is the jewel in the Mediterranean crown. The capital of the autonomous region of Catalonia offers the widest range of choice in arts, culture and entertainment. The medieval city centre of Barcelona is one of the most stunning and complete in Europe and the modernist architecture of Gaudí is present wherever you step your foot in. During the summer the city is a vibrant, international hub with an excessive nightlife and endless possibilities on how to spend your days and therefore the best choice if you want to learn Spanish and enjoy the summer to it’s fullest.

Our students recommendations for Barcelona:

“There’s nothing better than going for a swim in the Mediterranean after you finished your Spanish class!”

“Watch the best Spanish movies in the open air cinema on top of the Montjuïc hill and enjoy the view at sunset over the city.”

“I love to wander around the multicultural Raval district and explore the art galleries and numerous shops hidden in the narrow alleys.”

 

Madrid

Madrid is Spain’s capital and a melting pot of people from all parts of Spain and the numerous immigrants coming from South America. The city has everything you’re looking for on your holiday: famous museums, the beautiful Retiro Park and a wide selection of restaurants, clubs and bars where you can enjoy every type of food, music or drink.  The Madrileños are known for their hospitality and that’s why it’s so easy to feel at home when you come to learn Spanish in Madrid.

Our students recommendations for Madrid:

“Go to the San Miguel market and discover the delicious Spanish food.”

“The best place to enjoy a fresh breeze in the evening is on one of the cities numerous rooftop terraces.”

“Have a cold caña after your Spanish classes with the other students in the La Latina disctrict.”

 

Seville

Andalusia’s capital is often described as the classic heart of Spain where the most ancient of Spanish traditions are still alive. You can find everything there: Flamenco dance, little Tapas bars, the famous bullfighting and some of the biggest celebrations in the whole of Spain. Seville seduces because of its amazing architecture, friendly and passionate people, orange blossom and traditonal cuisine. The “Queen of the South” is the perfect option if you want to learn Spanish and immerse yourself completely in the Spanish culture.

“Enjoy the beautiful Real Alcázar castle and have a coffee break in the garden café before your Spanish classes start.”

“See a typical Flamenco show and let yourself carry away from the passion of the Andalusians.”

Valencia

Valencia is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city on the Mediterranean coast. Some of the country’s most famous beaches are nearby and the nightlife of Valencia is one of the best in Spain. The America’s Cup sailing event and the Formula 1 activities have added a whole new dimension to the harbour where you now find a refined range of restaurants, bars and nighclubs. If you come to learn Spanish in Valencia you will have a great summer full of fun, activities and beach life.

“Enjoy some delicious tapas in one of the many bars in the barrio del Carmen, just around the corner of the Spanish school in Valencia.”

“You need a break after your Spanish class? Go to the beach and mix up with the locals to play beach volleyball!”
